June is the most important month for the people of Cusco because it was chosen by the Incas to celebrate the most important festival of the Inca Empire, the "Inti Raymi" or Sun Festival. Today, Cusco continues to celebrate this festival every year on June 24th. That's why this Inti Raymi Full Day Tour is designed for you to enjoy the most important festival in Cusco, the Inti Raymi.
Every year on June 24th, the day when the sun is at its farthest point from the Earth, the Inti Raymi or "Festival of the Sun" is celebrated. It is an ancient Andean religious ceremony in honor of Inti (the Sun God) and takes place during the winter solstice. The Inti Raymi was the most important religious festival during the time of the Incas, and to this day, the ancient ceremony is still performed with its main stage at the architectural complex of Sacsayhuaman. The Inti Raymi lasts almost a full day, starting at around 7:00 in the morning and concluding at approximately 4:00 in the afternoon.
In the early hours of the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to visit the Temple of Coricancha and witness this ancient "Festival of the Sun." Accompanied by your group and our guide, we will then head to the Main Square of Cusco, where the Inca expresses himself and carries out the ceremony of the coca leaf together with his wife, the Coya, and his retinue. Finally, we will proceed to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, where you will have a closer view from a grandstand of this impressive Andean festival, including sacred rituals honoring the Sun God, traditional dances, music, and ceremonial attire.

Inti Raymi Full Day Tour Itinerary
To witness the staging of the Inti Raymi, or "Festival of the Sun," we start the day early as the event lasts almost the entire day, starting around 9:00 a.m. and ending at approximately 4:00 p.m.
We will pick you up from your hotel around 8:00 a.m. to head to the Temple of Coricancha. At approximately 9:00 a.m., the ceremony called the "Salute to the Sun" takes place in front of the Temple of Coricancha or the Garden of Gold. This is the first staging of the Inti Raymi, where the Inca Pachacutec appears and pays homage to the Sun God and performs the initial rituals with coca leaves. This scene is located on Av. el Sol. You will witness the entire ceremony standing, accompanied by a group guide, which will last approximately 1 hour.
Accompanied by the guide and our group, we will walk to the Main Square to continue with the ceremony and witness the second staging, known as the "Encounter of the Times and Coca Leaf Ceremony." In this ceremony, the Inca is carried by eight servants along with his wife, the Coya, and their retinue, gathering at the great ushnu or ceremonial stage to perform this ceremony. This part of the ceremony lasts approximately 45 minutes. You will also witness the ceremony standing from a strategic point in the Main Square.
After the ceremony in the Main Square, with the assistance of our guide, we will head to our transportation that will take us to Sacsayhuaman, where the third staging or main offering ceremony to the "Sun God" will take place. We will proceed to our reserved seats in the green grandstand section, where you can enjoy your box lunch and not miss any part of the ceremony. The main ceremony lasts approximately 3 hours, during which you will witness the representatives of the four suyus paying homage to the Inca and the Sun God. Once the ceremony is over, we will board our transportation in an orderly manner to return to the city of Cusco.
