The Machu Picchu and 7 Colors Mountain tour brings together the main attractions of Cusco in a single itinerary. During 6 days, you will visit the city: temples and sites such as Sacsayhuamán and Qoricancha, the archaeological sites of the Sacred Valley, the citadel of Machu Picchu, the terraces of Moray, and the Maras Salt Mines. The program ends with the hike to 7 Colors Mountain (5 080 m a.s.l.).
It includes accommodation in Cusco and Aguas Calientes, transfers, entrance tickets to archaeological sites, and bilingual guides.
Day 1
Reception at the airport or bus terminal and transfer to your hotel in Cusco. In the afternoon, at approximately 1:00 p.m. or earlier, we will begin the city tour by visiting the Cusco Cathedral and the Qoricancha Temple. Then we will visit the archaeological sites of Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay, located in the upper part of the city of Cusco. We will return to the area near the Historic Center at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Day 2
Full-day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 a.m. Our vehicle will take you to the town of Pisac (2,972 m / 9,751 ft), where we will begin the tour by visiting the Pisac Archaeological Center, located 45 minutes from Cusco by car.
After the archaeological tour, we will visit the Pisac handicraft market, one of the best known in the Sacred Valley and South America, where you will find alpaca textiles, ceramics, silver jewelry, and local handicrafts. At midday, we will head to the town of Urubamba (2,871 m / 9,419 ft), where you will enjoy a buffet lunch with typical dishes from the region.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress (2,792 m / 9,160 ft), one of the best-preserved archaeological complexes of the Inca Empire. This site was the scene of an important battle between the Incas and the Spanish in 1536, and it still preserves its original urban layout. Our guide will explain the history and architecture of the site during the tour.
At the end of the visit, our guide will accompany you to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes (2,040 m / 6,693 ft). The train journey takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Upon arrival, our assistant will be waiting at the station to take you to your hotel.

Day 3
Early in the morning, you will head to the bus station to go up to the Machu Picchu Archaeological Sanctuary (2,430 m / 7,972 ft), where the guided tour will begin. The journey takes 25 minutes; you will then arrive at the Machu Picchu citadel.
Once at Machu Picchu, our guide will begin the guided tour about the history and architecture of the site. You will see the main Inca buildings and temples, as well as the natural surroundings.
In the afternoon, you will board the return train to Ollantaytambo station, where we will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 4
Pickup from the hotel at approximately 7:30 a.m. Departure by vehicle to the Moray archaeological center (3,500 m / 11,483 ft), located 38 km from Cusco. Along the way, we will see cultivated fields surrounded by mountains and snow-capped peaks.
Guided tour of Moray, an archaeological site with stepped circular terraces that functioned as an Inca agricultural laboratory. The deepest circle is 80 meters in diameter, and the temperature variations between terraces make it possible to reproduce up to 20 different microclimates.
We will continue to the Maras Salt Mines (3,380 m / 11,089 ft), made up of approximately 3,000 pools that produce between 50 and 80 kilos of salt per season. The pools are fed by an underground spring, and the sun evaporates the water to crystallize the salt. You can purchase pink salt at the site.
On the return to Cusco, we will stop in Chinchero (3,762 m / 12,342 ft) to visit a textile center where you will see the traditional process of working with alpaca fiber.

Day 5
Very early pickup from the hotel. Travel by vehicle to the district of Cusipata - Paucarpata for breakfast. Then you will continue for another hour to the checkpoint, where you will begin the hike.
The hike takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. Along the way, you will be able to see Andean landscapes, snow-capped peaks, llamas, and alpacas. Upon reaching the viewpoint of Vinicunca or 7 Colors Mountain (5,080 m / 16,667 ft), the guide will explain the geography, ecosystem, and characteristic colors of the mountain. You will have enough time to enjoy the scenery and take photographs.
Then you will return to the checkpoint and head back to Cusipata for lunch. The 7 Colors Mountain tour will end with the transfer back to your hotel in Cusco.

Yes, as long as admission tickets are available and the schedules are compatible with the itinerary.
Basic locally managed restrooms may be available at some points along the route, but they are not part of the tour services and you should not assume they will be available throughout the entire route. Therefore, it is advisable to use the restroom before starting the hike and bring cash in soles.
Yes, local horse rental services are available in the area, but they are not included in the CuscoPeru.com package.
The hike does not require mountaineering techniques, but it takes place at high altitude and can be physically demanding. The main difficulty is the lower availability of oxygen, in addition to the cold and trail conditions. Good physical condition does not completely eliminate the risk of altitude sickness.
We recommend booking the tour 6 months in advance, especially if you want to travel during high season.
