Different in character from all the others, the temples and churches of Ica have their own unmistakable style, something truly worth appreciating. Take a slow walk under the pleasant Ica sun and visit its churches and convents.
Sanctuary of the Lord of Luren: Located in the center of Ica, between block 10 of Ayacucho Street and block 7 of Piura Street. It is a Neoclassical temple rebuilt in 2018 after the 2007 earthquake. It houses the patron saint of the city and gathers thousands of faithful during Holy Week and in October.
Sanctuary of the Virgin of Yauca: Located in the district of Yauca del Rosario, about 40 km from the city of Ica. It is one of the most important pilgrimage centers in southern Peru. It stands out for its devotion to the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Yauca, whose main festivity is celebrated every October.
Cathedral of Ica: Located in front of the Main Square. It was originally built in 1759 as a temple of the Society of Jesus. It has great historical and architectural beauty.
Church of San Francisco: Dating back to the 18th century, although it has undergone several restorations, it is one of the most important colonial legacies in the city center.
Church of the Society of Jesus: Considered a more modern construction, it stands out for its earthquake-resistant bamboo structure.
