Maras and Moray ATV Tour Itinerary

Our Maras and Moray ATV tour begins early with hotel pickup at 7:00 a.m. We will head north of the city, and during our journey, you will pass through impressive landscapes where you can appreciate the natural beauty of this region. Our first stop is the town of Maras, where you can see the fantastic Salt Mines. (We will travel a part of the way on ATVs and then switch to transportation for safety reasons). The Maras salt mines served during the time of the Incas to supply salt to the entire Cusco region. The salt mines are in the form of terraces crossed by a stream that provides salty water to the pools. This salt is recommended for people with high blood pressure, skin conditions, and swelling, so don't forget to buy some during our journey. It's important to note that the salt mines operate throughout the year and are open to the public.

As we continue our journey, you'll have the opportunity to see the snowy peaks of "La Verónica" and "Chicón", accompanied by a magical Andean landscape. Upon arriving at our operations base located in the area called Cruz Pata, you will be assigned the ATVs, and we will proceed to visit the experimental terraces of Moray. These terraces, created by the Incas in the form of a sunken amphitheater, were believed to have served an important purpose in creating microclimates and aiding plant growth. This stop will take approximately 20 minutes, and then we will continue towards the 5 Snowy Peaks Viewpoint, where you'll have an impressive view of the route. Finally, we'll appreciate the Piuray Lagoon, where you'll see a green field with seasonal birds and have the opportunity to interact with the local inhabitants.

Finally, we'll return to our base and take our transportation back to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 2:00 p.m.
