We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 07:30 a.m. to take you on a journey of approximately 1 hour through the district of Chinchero until we reach our base in the district of Maras. This tour follows a route where we will visit the two most beautiful lagoons located to the north of Cusco, with breathtaking mountain scenery.
We will traverse beautiful landscapes and appreciate the vibrant culture of the Quechua inhabitants while visiting the Huaypo and Piuray lagoons, located between the provinces of Anta and Urubamba. These two lagoons are home to a variety of fish and are the habitat of regional birds. During the journey, you will be able to view different villages and Andean landscapes. First, we will visit the Huaypo lagoon, which is situated at an altitude of 3,800 meters above sea level. Then, we will head to the town of Chinchero to visit the Piuray lagoon, located at an elevation of 3,435 meters above sea level. This lagoon is of surface origin and boasts impressive natural beauty and a peaceful environment. After visiting both lagoons, we will return to our base in Maras and then take our transportation back to your hotel in Cusco, concluding at 01:00 p.m.

To begin our tour of the two lagoons on ATVs (all-terrain vehicles), we will pick you up early from your hotel in Cusco at around 07:30 a.m. We will then depart in our private transport on a journey of approximately 1 hour to the town of Maras, located in the Urubamba district. This is where our ATV adventure begins, but before the ride, you will receive some brief and practical driving lessons to ensure you can navigate the area without any issues and fully enjoy this adrenaline-packed ATV experience amidst the beautiful surrounding landscapes.
Once you have received these lessons, we will head to the Huaypo Lagoon, a natural attraction surrounded by lush green fields that are home to a wide variety of fish and birds. It's a recommended spot for water sports like kayaking, as it has very calm and perfect waters. In the distance, you'll be able to see snow-capped peaks like Veronica, Salkantay, and Soray. Here, alongside your guide, you can learn more about the history of the area and what can be found there.
Next, we will pass through the town of Chinchero to visit the Piuray Lagoon. In this lagoon, you can spot various seasonal birds like the whistling duck and the Andean gull that inhabit this area. You'll also have the opportunity to interact with the local residents and experience the charm and peace that the place exudes.
These two lagoons can be visited throughout the year and are considered one of the most important water sources for the Imperial City of the Incas, Cusco, as well as the Sacred Valley and other regions of the province. They possess incomparable beauty, and during the journey, you will see small Andean communities surrounded by multicolored fields of crops, all cultivated by the local population. There are many interesting legends about the origin of these lagoons that our guide will surely share with you.
As the last point of our adventure tour, we will pass by the 5 Nevados viewpoint, where you will have a unique view of the entire route. This way, we conclude our two lagoons on ATVs tour at approximately 01:00 p.m. before returning to the city of Cusco.
