At 8:30 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel (Cusco) and take you to the Sacred Valley of the Incas until you reach our private port that is in Pachar. Here you will receive your rafting equipment and a safety talk. (Sanitary facilities are available). After a short period of time practicing in the flat parts of the river, we will start our journey in easy waters, while we admire the spectacular views of the mountains and archaeological remains. We will continue towards Ollantaytambo and its incredible Inca terraces; at this moment we will experience the rapids class II-III, to finish in "The Slide" fast class III that includes waves and small whirlpools. Then we will have lunch in a traditional restaurant located on the banks of the river, a restaurant owned by the local community. This is a great opportunity to enjoy Andean cuisine, supporting them in their community projects. At the end of our adventure, we will take you to your hotel in Cusco or to your hotel in the Sacred Valley, ending this tour of adventure tourism in Cusco, rafting on the Urubamba River.
At 8:30 in the morning, the guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. We will head south towards the city of Cusipata, where we will prepare our raft and receive your equipment and safety talk. After a period of practice, we will board our boats and start the descent down the Vilcanota River. We are going to cross a narrow canyon with some class 2-3 rapids. The landscape is beautiful and will give us the opportunity to see the villagers who work in their crops, the fishermen and the Andean wild birds. Then we will go back to the hotel.
Note: From mid-April to mid-December the section of Ollantaytambo is followed and from mid-December to mid-April the section of Cusipata, located south of Cusco, is followed, so passengers must remain in Cusco, to be picked up from there, otherwise there will be an extra cost to pay for transportation.
