Itinerario Tour Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu 4 days

DAY 1: CUSCO CITY AND SURROUNDINGS

Welcome and transfer to your hotel in Cusco. In the afternoon, around 1:00 p.m., we will pick you up from the hotel and start our tour of the city, beginning with Cusco Cathedral, which houses priceless artistic treasures and is considered by many as the most beautiful cathedral in South America. Then we will visit Qoricancha, a marvelous temple with perfect construction that was considered sacred, as it housed Inca priests who worshipped the Sun God.

We will continue our guided visit to the archaeological sites located around the city of Cusco, starting with the esplanade of Sacsayhuaman, whose Quechua name means "satisfied falcon." It was built with enormous stone blocks and was called the "house of the sun" during the Inca era. It was a major religious center of great importance in the local tradition. Next, we will visit Qenqo, a Quechua word meaning "labyrinth" due to its underground galleries and small zigzagging canals. Our tour will then take us to Puka-Pukara, known as the red fortress, constructed with reddish-toned stones. Finally, we will arrive at Tambomachay, an Inca site dedicated to water. Our tour will end at Plaza de Armas in Cusco at approximately 6:00 p.m.

INCLUDES:

  • Private airport-hotel transfer.
  • One night hotel accommodation in Cusco.
  • Entrance fees to Cathedral, Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka-Pukara, and Tambomachay.
  • Transfers in a tourist bus.
  • Group guided tour. Professional English-Spanish guide.
  • Pre-tour assistance.

DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY - AGUAS CALIENTES

Breakfast at the hotel. At 8:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel and begin by visiting the archaeological site of Pisac, located 45 minutes from Cusco in private transportation. Pisac will give you an idea of the advanced architectural knowledge achieved by the Incas. Like other Inca constructions, some studies reveal that it was not a fortress but rather a kind of "royal estate" during the government of Inca Pachacutec. It consisted of terraces, domestic and ceremonial structures, and aqueducts that provided water for agricultural exploitation. Another good reason to visit Pisac is its craft market, where you can find unique and authentic souvenirs.

At noon, we will head to the town of Urubamba, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch that will allow you to savor the delicious Peruvian cuisine. Urubamba was one of the main agricultural centers of the Inca Empire. Nowadays, the best corn in the world is harvested here, and during the rainy season, the valley is abundant with fruits such as peaches, capulí, quince, and high-quality strawberries, among others.

In the afternoon, we will visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo, which served as an agricultural, religious, and astronomical center for the administration and control of the Sacred Valley. The finely carved and strategically placed stone blocks in the direction of the Sun God showcase the site's architectural mastery. This archaeological site comprises a series of superimposed terraces, showcasing impressive large stone blocks on the upper terrace. It is in Ollantaytambo that we will board the train to Aguas Calientes to be able to visit Machu Picchu early the next day.

INCLUDES:

  • One night hotel accommodation in Aguas Calientes.
  • Entrance fees to Pisac, Ollantaytambo.
  • Transfers in a tourist bus.
  • Group guided tour. Professional English-Spanish guide.
  • Buffet lunch

NOT INCLUDED:

DAY 3: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU - HUAYNA PICCHU - CUSCO

The journey takes 25 minutes, and finally, we will arrive at Machu Picchu and begin the ascent to Huayna Picchu. It will take approximately an hour and a half, but it is truly worth it as you will be literally in the clouds. The view is breathtaking, and the experience will be unforgettable. Enjoy it and recharge your energy.

After your visit to Huayna Picchu Mountain, you will descend, and our guide will provide you with a private guided tour of the citadel for approximately 2 hours. You will learn more about the history, architecture, engineering, flora, fauna, and mysteries of Machu Picchu. Recharge your energy and capture the best memories of your vacation.

After the tour, you will board the return bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have some free time to have your meals.
