Then we will visit the Qorikancha Temple; this wonderful temple is considered sacred by the Incas since it housed Inca priests, in charge of worshiping the Sun God.
We will continue our guided tour of the archaeological centers located around the city of Cusco, starting with Sacsayhuaman. Its Quechua name means "satisfied hawk" and it was built with huge blocks of stone. In the time of the Incas it was called "the House of the Sun"; it was a great religious center, very important in the local tradition. Then we will visit Qenqo which means "Labyrinth", named as such by the Spaniards, due to the labyrinthine underground galleries and the small canals carved in zigzag. Finally we will visit Puka Pukara called the "red fortress" since it is built with stones that acquire a red tone in the sunset; the last place we will visit this day will be Tambomachay, which was an Inca temple dedicated to water worship. Full day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Breakfast at the hotel. At 8:00 a.m. we will pick you up from your hotel and start our trip; the first place we will visit is the archaeological center of Pisac, located 45 minutes from Cusco. Pisac will give you an idea of the advanced knowledge that the Incas achieved in architecture; some studies reveal that it is not a fortress, but a kind of "royal treasury" owned by the Inca Pachacutec, composed of platforms, domestic structures, ceremonial and aqueducts that provided water for agricultural exploitation. Another good reason to visit Pisac is its craft market, where you can find some unique and authentic memorabilia.
At noon we will go to the town of Urubamba (capital of the Sacred Valley), where we will enjoy the buffet lunch that will allow you to taste the delicious Peruvian cuisine. Urubamba was one of the main agricultural centers of the Inca Empire. Currently, the best corn in the world is harvested here, and in the rainy season the fruits of the valley are abundant, such as peaches, capulí, quince, strawberries of the highest quality, among others. In the afternoon we will visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo that constituted a strategic military, agricultural and religious center to administer and control the Sacred Valley; this is deduced by the constructions that presumably were for agricultural deposits and for military use as walls and watchtowers (probably to protect themselves from the jungle ethnic groups). This archaeological site comprises a series of superimposed terraces, showing the impressive and large stone blocks finely carved and located on the upper terrace. On the way back to Cusco, we will visit the town of Chinchero known as the "City of the Rainbow" where we will visit the church of Our Lady of Monserrat, built in 1607 on the palace of Tupac Yupanqui; we will also see andenería and a picturesque artisan market.

Always accompanied by the guide and our group, we will move to the Plaza de Armas to continue with the ceremony. This part of the ceremony lasts approximately 45 minutes; we will also appreciate the standing ceremony from a strategic point of the Plaza de Armas. After the ceremony in the main square, always with the assistance of our guide, we will go to our bus that will take us to Sacsayhuaman, where the main ceremony of offering, thanks and orders to the "Sun God" will be staged. The main ceremony lasts 3 hours approximately and in order to enjoy this show we will have reserved seats. After the ceremony we will approach our bus in an orderly manner to return to Cusco.
