Cusco - Valle Sagrado - Sky Lodge - Machu Picchu + Huayna picchu

We meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. In the afternoon, you visit Cusco while the guide tells you about the history of the city. During this tour, you have a panoramic view because you visit Cristo Blanco, at the top of Pukamoqo hill. After taking photos, you walk through some of Cusco’s most representative streets.

From the Cristo Blanco viewpoint, you walk down toward the San Blas neighborhood, known for its artistic atmosphere. Along the way, you visit traditional places such as Siete Borreguitos street, the San Blas viewpoint and Hatun Rumiyoc, where the Twelve-Angled Stone is located, known for the precise fit between the stones. It is believed that the Incas achieved this precision with advanced stone-cutting techniques and great skill in working stone.

Departure is early from your hotel toward Chinchero, the starting point of the route. Chinchero is known for its cultural heritage and Andean surroundings. The bike ride crosses farmland and communities to the Huaypo Lagoon viewpoint. You continue toward the community of Misminay, with a view of the Moray archaeological complex, known as the agricultural laboratory of the Incas.

The bike route continues along roads with gentle climbs and descents to the town of Maras, the Maras Salt Mines and the descent into the Sacred Valley.

In the afternoon, you arrive in Pachar, in the Sacred Valley, at Sky Lodge Adventure Suites, a hanging lodge. At around 3:30 p.m., the safety briefing and equipment distribution begin for the climb up the mountain by via ferrata. At the lodge, you are welcomed with mate or coffee. The stay includes dinner and breakfast the following day.

You spend the night in a hanging shelter with transparent walls, overlooking the valley and the night sky. The descent from the mountain is the following day at 10:00 a.m., by zip line or via ferrata.

In the morning, you descend from Sky Lodge Adventure Suites by zip line or via ferrata. Private transportation then picks you up for the Sacred Valley tour.

The first stop is Pisac, an important Inca center in the area. You also visit its handicraft market, where you can buy local items and talk with artisans. At midday, you continue to Urubamba for lunch.

In the afternoon, you go to Ollantaytambo and visit the Inca fortress. The tour ends at around 3:00 p.m. In the town of Ollantaytambo, you take the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), where you spend the night before going up to Machu Picchu the following day.

You leave early by bus (about 25 minutes) for the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, the guided tour of the citadel begins, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. The guide explains the history and architecture of the site while you visit the Inca structures and the surrounding area.

After the guided visit, you climb Huayna Picchu (2,693 m / 8,833 ft above sea level). The mountain rises about 360 meters above Machu Picchu, and the archaeological complex can be seen from the summit. The ascent takes approximately one and a half hours. Admission and logistics are organized within the program.

In the afternoon, you take the return train. You are picked up at the station and transferred to your hotel in Cusco.

Important: Admission to Huayna Picchu is very limited, so it is important to book 2 or 3 months in advance.

Departure from your hotel in Cusco between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m. You travel by vehicle about two hours south to Cusipata – Paucarpata (3,310 m / 10,856 ft above sea level), where you have a buffet breakfast. You continue for another hour by car to the checkpoint and the start of the hike in Llaqto.

The hike takes approximately 1 h 20 min. Along the way, you can see high-altitude flora and fauna, including llamas and alpacas, as well as ravines and snow-capped mountains. At the Vinicunca or Rainbow Mountain viewpoint (5,080 m / 16,662 ft above sea level), the guide explains the terrain, ecosystem and color of the mountain. From there, you can also see the Vinicunca range (5,020 m / 16,466 ft above sea level), and there is time for photos.

You return along the same route to Llaqto, where transportation is waiting to take you to Cusipata for the buffet lunch. Afterward, you return to Cusco, with estimated arrival between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. The final stop is near the Plaza de Armas.
