ATV tour in the 7 Colors Mountain full day

The ATV tour to the Rainbow Mountain is one of our exclusive and innovative products. Instead of a 1-hour hike, we replace it with a 20-minute adventure ride to get close to the Rainbow Mountain. This tour is an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) adventure in the Andes, providing a completely different experience when visiting Vinicunca (VINIKUNKA).

ATV IN THE MOUNTAIN OF 7 COLORS

The ATV tour to the Rainbow Mountain is one of our exclusive and innovative products, offering a faster and more accessible way to reach the mountain. Instead of hiking uphill for 1 hour, we replace it with a 20-minute ATV or motorcycle ride to ascend to Vinicunca Mountain.

First, we'll pick you up early from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 a.m. We'll continue through the South Valley, observing different landscapes and the daily life of the local people until we reach the district of Pitumarca on a 2-hour journey from Cusco, where we'll have our Andean buffet breakfast before heading to our base in CCAIRAHUIRI.

At this base, the guide will give us instructions on how to use our ATV. After a safe practice and getting the instructor's OK, instead of a 1-hour uphill walk, we replace it with the adventure of riding the ATVs on a 20-minute ascent to the impressive Rainbow Mountain in Vinicunca, declared as the "Unique Natural Treasure in the World."

The Rainbow Mountain is located at 5,036 meters above sea level / 16,522.31 feet. Our guide will provide an explanation of the orography, ecosystem, and color of the mountain, a marvel of nature due to the oxides of the different minerals that make up these geological formations. From this point, you'll have a breathtaking view of Apu Ausangate. You should know that the mountain is almost as high as the BASE CAMP OF EVEREST, which is located at 5,389 meters above sea level.

Once you've finished the tour and the visit to the mountain, you'll return to the base to leave the ATVs and then head to the restaurant for your lunch. It's an excellent way to end the day after exploring and enjoying the wonders of the region.

The afternoon return marks the end of your Full-Day ATV Tour to Rainbow Mountain. After experiencing the natural and cultural wonders of the region, we'll return to Cusco, reaching your hotel at around 4:00 p.m., allowing you to rest peacefully.

Itinerary ATV Tour in the 7 Colors Mountain full day

This is one of our exclusive and innovative products to the 7 Colors Mountain. It offers an adventure in the Andes where we ascend to the mountain in just 20 minutes on ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicles).

We will start by picking you up from your Cusco hotel at 4:00 a.m. and then continue through the South Valley. During the journey, you will observe different landscapes and the daily life of the local people. After a 2-hour drive, we will reach Pitumarca, where we will stop for a buffet breakfast. Continuing through the district of Checacupe, known for its three bridges representing different architectural eras.

  • The Inca Bridge: It was built to connect the Inca road network or Qhapac Ñan. Its foundation, which supports straw weavings, dates back to 1448. The suspension bridge is made of straw and is periodically replaced with a new one, a task carried out by the local villagers. It is said that the order to build this bridge came from the visionary Inca governor, Wiracocha. The Inca bridges allowed rapid movement of people and efficient exchange of agricultural products between different ecological zones.
  • The Colonial Bridge: It is more robust compared to the Inca bridge and was constructed during the Spanish colonial era in the 16th century. This stone bridge is still in use and reflects the influence of Spanish architecture from that period.
  • The Republican Bridge: Its structure is made of metal, representing modern architecture. It was constructed in recent times to reinforce the area's road infrastructure.

After taking souvenir photos of this picturesque landscape, we head to our base in CCAIRAHUIRI, where the guide will give us instructions on how to use our ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle). Instead of a 1-hour uphill walk, we replace it with a 20-minute all-terrain quad bike adventure, taking us to the impressive 7 Colors Mountain in Vinicunca (VINIKUNKA), declared a "Natural Treasure unique in the World".

The 7 Colors Mountain is located at 5,036 meters above sea level. Our guide will provide an entertaining explanation about the topography, ecosystem, and colors of the mountain. It's a natural wonder resulting from the oxides of various minerals that make up these geological formations. The slopes and summits display colors ranging from red, purple, green, pink, yellow, and many other interesting shades.

From this point, you'll have a breathtaking view of Apu Ausangate, the most powerful and tutelary mountain, also known as the "creator of waters". Its thaw feeds the Vilcanota River, which flows through Cusco's Urubamba Valley, nourishing Mother Earth until it disappears into the Amazon rainforest and forms the AMAZON RIVER, the longest and most voluminous river in the world.

The 7 Colors Mountain is almost as high as the BASE CAMP OF EVEREST, which stands at 5,389 meters above sea level /  16 522.31 ft. After completing the tour and visiting the mountain, we embark on a 20-minute downhill journey to the base to leave the ATVs and then proceed to a restaurant for lunch. It's an excellent way to end the day after exploring and enjoying the wonders of the region.

After experiencing the natural and cultural wonders of the region, we will return to your hotel in Cusco at around 4:00 p.m., concluding your full-day ATV tour to the 7 Colors Mountain.
