Maras and Moray are two tourist destinations located at 3,385 m.a.s.l. in the Northern Valley of the Incas. We will start the tour with the pick up from your hotel in Cusco around 7:00 a.m. and we will head to the north of the city of Cusco in a 1 hour trip, arriving at our base of operations located in the sector called Cruzpata. Afterwards, we will be assigned ATVs, where our instructor will teach us how to use our ATV; after a practice and having the instructor's OK, we will continue our journey in a 40 min. trip through trails and landscapes, visiting trails and landscapes. We will visit the experimental terraces of Moray which are terraces created by the Incas in the form of a sunken amphitheater, it is said that these terraces had a very important purpose for the creation of microclimates and help the growth of plants, we will enjoy an incredible view, we will learn about the ingenious Inca agriculture and these terraces.
After the visit to Moray, we will return to our base in Cruzpata to leave the ATVs and transfer to the salt mines of Maras, where the guide will provide you with detailed information about the artisanal way of salt production. Finally, we will take our transportation back to the city of Cusco and your hotel, ending the tour at 14:00 p.m. approximately.

Our ATV tour of Maras and Moray, starts early with the pick up from your hotel at 7:00 a.m. and then head north of the city, during our trip our transport will pass through breathtaking landscapes in which you will appreciate the natural beauty of this region, in our journey we will see the snowy "La Veronica" and the snowy "Chicon" accompanied by a magical landscape typical of the Andes.
Upon arrival at our base of operations located in the sector called Cruz Pata, you will be assigned the ATVs, and the guide will give us instructions on how to use our ATV and after a little practice at the base of the ATVs, we will continue our journey of 40 min. to visit the experimental terraces of Moray that are terraces created by the Incas in the form of a sunken amphitheater, it is said that these terraces had a very important purpose for the creation of microclimates and help the growth of different types of agricultural crops and plants.
This point will take us approximately 20 minutes of visit, then we will continue towards the Mirador de los 5 nevados having an impressive view of the route and a tour of the green fields, which will take us back in a 40 min. trip to the base point, where we will leave the ATV, at this point we will get on our transport, since by security measures we can not continue the route on ATV, since the route to the town of the salt mines has slopes and curves that are not safe for this type of activity.
We will arrive at the salt mines of Maras that served in the time of the Incas to supply this mineral to all of Cusco and nearby towns, we will observe the salt terraces which are crossed by a stream that feeds salt water to the pools, this mineral is recommended for people suffering from hypertension and skin conditions and swelling, so do not forget to buy them during our way. Something you should know is that the salt mines work all year round and are open to the public.
Finally, we will return to our hotel in the city of Cusco and arrive at approximately 14:00 p.m.
