Motorcycle tour in Cusco and Machu Picchu

Pick-up, motorcycle assignment, and safety briefing

Your motorbike tour from Cusco begins with pick-up from your hotel at approximately 8:30 a.m. Transportation takes you to the main base, where the motorcycle guide assigns your bike and explains proper handling and safety guidelines. The motorcycle ride is scheduled to begin at around 9:00 a.m.

Sacred Valley and Málaga Pass

You will ride northwest from Cusco and cross the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The route passes through Chinchero and Ollantaytambo, with short stops at viewpoints for scenery and photographs. From Ollantaytambo, you will climb to Málaga Pass at 4,330 meters above sea level and see snowcapped Veronica Mountain.

Conditions at the pass are colder and rain can occur. As you descend toward Santa Maria, temperatures rise and the vegetation becomes denser, marking the transition into the Cusco cloud forest.

Santa Maria, Hidroeléctrica, and train to Aguas Calientes

There will be a lunch stop in Santa Maria. Meals are not included, so lunch is paid for separately. You will then continue by motorcycle to Hidroeléctrica Station, where the bikes are left behind.

From Hidroeléctrica, you will board the train to Aguas Calientes. The published journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival, the team transfers you to the included hotel for the first overnight stay.

Bus to Machu Picchu

At around 7:00 a.m., the guide picks you up from the hotel and escorts you to the bus station. The ride to the Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary takes approximately 30 minutes. You must present your admission ticket together with your passport or identification document at the entrance.

Guided visit to the Inca city

The guided tour inside Machu Picchu lasts approximately two hours. You will learn about its history, architecture, and engineering and see areas of its agricultural and urban sectors according to the assigned circuit. The program allows time for photographs within the conditions of that route.

Return to Aguas Calientes and transfer to Santa Teresa

After the visit, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes. There will be time to purchase lunch before boarding the return train to Hidroeléctrica. Transportation will be waiting at the station to take you to Santa Teresa for the second overnight stay.

Motorcycle return over Málaga Pass

The third day begins in Santa Teresa at approximately 9:00 a.m. You will get back on the motorcycle, climb toward Málaga Pass, and then descend to Ollantaytambo. Brief stops along the route allow time for photographs and information about the surroundings.

Chinchero textile house

The motorcycle trip to Machu Picchu route continues through Chinchero. You will visit a textile house run by local women and receive a short explanation of the traditional process and techniques used to create the textiles.

Arrival in Cusco

After the visit, you will ride to the base in Cusco and return the motorcycle. Transportation then takes you to your hotel, bringing the three-day adventure to an end.
