Cultural
We will travel from Cusco to Machu Picchu one day tour, to learn about the history, architecture and beauty of this Wonder...
View tourThis Cusco food tour combines a visit to San Pedro Market with a hands-on Peruvian cooking class. Over approximately five hours, you will learn about locally used ingredients, discuss their role with the chef and help prepare the dishes selected for the experience.
The private service includes hotel pickup, transportation, a chef, cooking and dining utensils, a market visit, the cooking class and lunch or dinner. It is a practical introduction to Peruvian cuisine rather than a tasting route through several restaurants.
Day 1
We will pick you up from your Cusco hotel at the arranged time. Send us the address when booking so we can confirm the pickup area and schedule. The full experience lasts approximately five hours.
Tell us about allergies, dietary restrictions or strong ingredient preferences before the tour. Any menu adjustment must be confirmed in your booking rather than requested after the class has begun.
Visit to San Pedro Market
At San Pedro Market, you will see products used in Peruvian cooking and everyday life in Cusco. The published examples include yellow chili, quinoa, varieties of potato, mushrooms and goldenberries, along with bread, cheese, fruit and spices.
The chef explains how some of these ingredients are chosen and used. You can observe the market's buying routine and discuss the products that will later be used during the class. Ask vendors before photographing them or their stalls.
Transfer to the cooking venue
After the market visit, private transportation takes you to the chef's venue. Before cooking, you will review the planned menu, the utensils and the basic instructions for working safely and keeping the station organized.
The menu is confirmed when booking. The gallery shows examples, but the dishes included in your service are the ones listed in your confirmation.
Hands on Peruvian cooking class
During the Peruvian cooking class in Cusco, you will take part in the preparation stages selected by the chef. The chef explains how to handle the ingredients, apply the required techniques and follow the correct order for each dish. You can ask questions and note down useful guidance as you work.
The activity is presented as participatory, although the exact tasks may vary with the menu, participant ages and kitchen-safety requirements. Tell the chef if you are new to cooking or uncomfortable with a particular utensil.
Lunch or dinner and end of the tour
Once the dishes are ready, you will sit down for the lunch or dinner included in the service. This is also a good time to ask the chef about ingredients or steps you would like to repeat at home.
Confirm the final drop-off point and hotel-return arrangements with your travel advisor. The menu and schedule may vary according to availability, season and operating conditions.

Recommendations
We took a five-hour gastronomic tour in Cusco, and it was a different and very enjoyable way to discover the city. Throughout the tour, we explored flavors, ingredients, and preparations that are part of Peruvian cuisine while learning a little more about the customs and history behind each dish. The experience was very well organized and allowed us to enjoy each stop at a relaxed pace, taste different specialties, and better appreciate the richness of Cusco’s gastronomy.
From the beginning, the team at CuscoPeru.com paid attention to every detail, and everything was carried out with great punctuality and organization. The food was excellent, and the tour was very well planned so that we could enjoy a complete and entertaining experience. We took home wonderful memories of the day, and if we return to Peru, we would definitely choose them again for another experience.
Discover some of the landscapes, attractions, and experiences included in this tour of Cusco.
Tell us exactly which ingredients you need to avoid before booking. We will check the planned menu with the chef and reply before you confirm payment. We cannot promise an adjustment unless it is recorded in your booking, particularly when the request concerns an allergy.
It is a visit to San Pedro Market followed by a participatory cooking class with a chef. The included meal is the lunch or dinner connected with the class. This is not a route through several restaurants or a series of street-food tastings.
The menu may vary. Contact us before booking and we will tell you what is planned for your date. Ceviche appears in the gallery, but you should only consider it included when it is written in your service confirmation.
No culinary training is required. The chef explains the preparation order and guides you while you use the ingredients and utensils. If you have never cooked or prefer not to perform a particular task, mention it at the start so the chef can give you a suitable and safe role.
Send us their ages before booking. The team needs to confirm whether they can participate in the selected menu and which tasks are suitable, since the class uses knives, hot surfaces and other kitchen tools. Children must remain with a responsible adult.
The program includes hotel pickup and private transportation, but the page does not clearly define the final drop-off point. Send us your hotel address so we can confirm both pickup and return arrangements. Avoid scheduling another activity immediately afterward until you know the expected arrival time and place.
