Motor Adventures in Peru
Knowing more, in less time, can only be achieved in a motorized vehicle and this country has a lot to show, starting with the Peruvian coast, which has one of the most impressive deserts in America. The structure and height of its dunes make them the preferred ones for lovers of motorcycles. On the other hand, the high mountains of the Andes with their intricate roads and forests, whether dry or rainy, are a challenge for those seeking high adrenaline content on their trip. It is important to mention, also, the splendid landscape richness that will be appreciated during the trips whether by car or motorcycle.
Of course you can see the same stunning views whichever way you choose to travel, but there is a certain thrill in riding around on your motorcycle, wind in your hair, while you pass remote villages, Inca ruins, all the while surrounded by the majesty of the Andes Mountains.
If you choose to travel to Machu Picchu, on a 3-day motorcycle trip, you will pass through the salt mines of Maras, the archeological terraces of Moray, the fortress of Ollantaytambo and Abra Malaga, all the way to Hidroelectrica, where you will need to leave the motorcycles for the night. But no worries, as you will get them back when you return and you can continue your careless and fun ride, with that wonderful satisfying feeling that only seeing one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu, can give you.
If, on the other hand, you do not have so much time, you can still enjoy a shorter motorcycle ride, of 7 hours, to Maras and Moray, while you also get to see the Church of Tiobamba and the Chinchero archeological site. There is also the option of a 1-day motorcycle tour of the Sacred Valley, which takes you to Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Maras and Moray.
However, you might not be keen on riding the motorcycle, or you might have even never used one; in this case, you don´t need to worry, as you can hop on an ATV and see the same amazing sites and natural landscapes. You can choose between a tour of 4 or 8 hours to Maras and Moray, depending on how much time you would like to spend. You might also opt for the Two Lagoons Tour on ATV, which will take you from Chinchero to the stunning lagoons of Piuray and Huraypo.
Whichever you choose, you are sure to have double the fun: exploring fascinating Inca ruins and enjoying the amazing natural landscape, all while on a fun ride on the motorcycle or ATV.
