Our 5-day "Salkantay and Machu Picchu" program combines the best of culture and nature. This hike will allow you to admire the mythical Salkantay Mountain and the famous Humantay Lagoon, ending this experience with a visit to the lost city of the Incas "Machu Picchu".

Day 01

CUSCO - MOLLEPATA - CHALLACANCHA - SORAYPAMPA (HUMANTAY LAGOON)

We start the day by picking you up from your hotel at 05:00 A.M. We will travel in our bus for approximately 4 hours, crossing the towns of Anta and Mollepata, ending in "Challacancha". After the first two hours of travel, we will stop at "Mollepata", where we can use the sanitary facilities and enjoy a short breakfast. After breakfast we will continue to "Challacancha", which will be the starting point for our walk. We will meet our support staff, who will organize all the equipment and cargo mules; then we will start the trekking to "Soraypampa", located at 3850 meters above sea level. The walk will last approximately 3 hours; we will travel a distance of 7 km (4.35 miles). Upon arrival in Soraypampa we will have our lunch at the base camp. After lunch and a short break, we will walk to the Humantay Lagoon, located at 4200 m.a.s.l. After the experience we will return to our camp located in "Soraypampa".

Caminata Hacia Laguna Humantay
Day 02

SORAYPAMPA - PASO SALKANTAY - WAYRACPUNKU - CHAULLAY

We will wake up early with the first light of day. At 05:30 in the morning, we will have our breakfast and then we will start the trekking to the highest point of the trail: "El paso Salkantay", which is located at 4650 m.a.s.l. The distance is 7 km (4.34 miles). The road is in ascent, it will last approximately 3 hours between the base of the rocky valley and the magnificent "Salkantay Mountain", which is located at 6271 m.a.s.l. After a short rest we will continue the 5 km (3.1 miles) trek downhill to Huayracmachay, where we will have lunch. After lunch and a brief rest, we will enter the upper part of the Amazon rainforest, which is also called "cloud forest". This is a 10 km (6.2 miles) hike, which will last approximately 3 hours; the road is wide and goes through the thick tropical forest. Our trek will end in the village of "Chaullay" located at 2900 meters above sea level. Our camp will be in the middle of the jungle, as we get closer and closer to Machu Picchu.

Day 03

CHAULLAY COLLPAPAMPA - LA PLAYA - LUCMABAMBA

We will have breakfast early; at 06:00 in the morning we will begin our walk to the small town of "La Playa". Our walk will be through the Santa Teresa Valley; on the way we will see a town called "Colpapampa", also known as the "front of the cloud forest", where you can see waterfalls, birds, hot springs, fruit trees and abundant flora and fauna. Upon arrival at "La Playa", we will enjoy our lunch; after lunch and a rest, we will take a walk of approximately 1 hour to our base camp called "Lucmabamba", located at 2400 meters above sea level.

Caminata Por Soraypampa Hacia Salkantay
Day 04

LUCMABAMBA LLACTAPATA - HIDROELECTRICA - AGUAS CALIENTES

After breakfast we will begin the trek; after a 2 hour climb with incredible views of the Santa Teresa valley, we will arrive at the Inca complex known as "Llactapata" located just in front of Machu Picchu. After visiting the archaeological remains of "Llactapata", we will continue our 2-hour walk downhill. In this part of the road, we arrive at the "Hidroeléctrica" ​​train station where we will have lunch. After lunch, we will arrive at Intiwatana, a famous ancient rock used as a sundial in Inca times. After passing this interesting Inca site, we will reach the train tracks, which lead to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town); upon arrival we can settle in the hotel and rest or visit the thermal waters. Day 05

THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY - MACHU PICCHU!

On this day we will receive our reward after the whole walk, we will visit one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World - The citadel of Machu Picchu. We will get up early to climb to the top of Machu Picchu. We will walk to the top of the mountain (if you wish you also have the option to get on the bus, the price of the ticket is: $ 12.00). Upon arrival at the citadel we will have a guided tour of 2 hours, our guide will accompany you to visit temples, terraces, palaces, houses of priests, the sundial, the industrial sector and the fields of cultivation. After this tour, if you have booked in advance, you can climb the mountain Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (be sure to book in advance to get tickets for these two sites). Another option that requires less effort and for which you do not need an additional ticket is to walk to Puerta del Sol or "Inti Punku", the main entrance from the Inca Trail (the walk to this place takes around 2 or 2 and a half hours - round trip). After the visit we will return to Aguas Calientes, where we will have time to have lunch. Itinerario Caminata Salkantay Machu Picchu - Salkantay Trekking

DÍA 1: CUSCO | MOLLEPATA - CHALLACANCHA - SORAYPAMPA (LAGUNA HUMANTAY)

Comenzamos el día recogiéndolo de su hotel a las 05:00 AM. Conduciremos durante aproximadamente 4 horas, cruzando Anta y Mollepata y terminando en Challancha. Después de las primeras dos horas de manejo, nos detendremos rápidamente en Mollepata para aprovechar las instalaciones sanitarias, las tiendas de recuerdos y un desayuno corto opcional. Continuaremos hacia Challacancha, el punto de partida para nuestra caminata. Nos reuniremos con nuestro personal de apoyo, y ellos organizarán todos los equipos y mulas de carga, comenzaremos el trekking a Soraypampa (3850 MASL - 12631 FASL), el primer campamento en nuestro viaje.
Viajaremos 7 km (4.35 millas) en 3 horas hasta Soraypampa donde tendremos nuestro almuerzo en el campamento base de Salkantay. Después del almuerzo y un breve descanso, caminaremos hasta el inolvidable Lago Humantay (4200 msnm - 13779 pies). Estaremos de vuelta en nuestro campamento.

DÍA 2: SORAYPAMPA | SALKANTAY PASS - WAYRACPUNKU - CHAULLAY

Después de un despertar temprano con la primera luz del día a las 05:30 AM y un desayuno rápido pero energizante, comenzaremos el trekking hasta el punto más alto del sendero: el Pasaje Salkantay (4650 MASL - 15255 FASL). La distancia es de 7 km (4.34 millas) de ascenso difícil en 3 horas entre la base del valle rocoso y la magnífica montaña Salkantay (6271 MASL- 20574 FASL). Continuando con este clímax de la caminata de hoy, hay una caminata de 5 km (3,1 millas) cuesta abajo hasta el sitio para almorzar: Huayracmachay. Veremos un pueblo llamado Colpapampa, también conocido como la "frente del bosque nuboso", donde se pueden observar cascadas, aves, aguas termales, árboles frutales y flora y fauna. Después de un abundante almuerzo en La Playa, realizaremos una caminata de aproximadamente 1 hora a nuestro campamento base llamado Lucmabamba (2400 msnm - 7874 FASL).

DÍA 4: LUCMABAMBA | LLACTAPATA - HIDROELECTRICA - AGUAS CALIENTES

Comenzaremos la caminata temprano, después de una subida de 2 horas con vistas increíbles del valle de Santa Teresa, llegaremos al sitio Llactapata Inca justo en frente de Machu Picchu. Después de las ruinas de Llactapata, continuaremos nuestra caminata con una caminata de 2 horas cuesta abajo. En esta parte del camino, llegamos a la estación de tren Hidroelectrica para almorzar. Después del almuerzo, llegaremos a Intiwatana, una famosa roca antigua utilizada como reloj de sol en la época inca. DÍA 5: EL DÍA MÁS IMPORTANTE - MACHU PICCHU!

Hoy llegamos a la tan esperada final de nuestra caminata, una de las Nuevas 7 Maravillas del Mundo y Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la UNESCO - Machu Picchu! Nos levantaremos temprano para subir a la cima de Machu Picchu. El punto de control de entrada de Machu Picchu está abierto de 06:00 a 17:00. Caminaremos hasta Machupicchu (un viaje en autobús es opcional por $ 12.00). Aquí tendremos una visita guiada de 2 horas a través de esta increíble ciudad antigua para visitar templos, terrazas, palacios, casas de sacerdotes, el reloj de sol, el sector industrial y los campos de cultivo. ¡Sorpréndase del ingenio ingenieril de los Incas que estaba tan adelantado a su tiempo y aun parcialmente en misterio hoy!
