Our budget-friendly tour takes you to the magical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, nestled in the highland jungle mountains near Cusco. This is a full-day excursion. What makes this tour more affordable is that it is conducted in a larger group, and we select train schedules that are less in demand. However, the time spent at the site and the quality of service remain the same as our standard Machu Picchu tour.

We start our travel experience with the Budget Machu Picchu Tour. A few days before the tour, we will provide you with a detailed briefing to prepare you for your journey.
On the day of your Machu Picchu visit, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the bus terminal, where you will travel with a group to the Ollantaytambo train station—a journey of 1 hour and 30 minutes through the Peruvian Andes. Upon arrival at Ollantaytambo station, you will board the train that will take you to Aguas Calientes, a journey of approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes along the Vilcanota River, enjoying mountains, small villages, and beautiful landscapes.
In Aguas Calientes, our professional guide will be waiting at the train station. We will then head to the bus terminal to take you to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu on a 25-minute journey up the mountain. Here, we start our 1-day Budget Tour to Machu Picchu, an unforgettable experience that allows you to connect with the Andean world.
We will visit the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu on a guided tour lasting approximately 2 to 3 hours. You will learn about its history, the evolution of its impressive stone architecture, and other fascinating details about this mystical city.
After the tour, you can return to Aguas Calientes, a charming town located at the foot of Machu Picchu. You will have free time to explore its picturesque streets, visit craft centers, and enjoy the diverse gastronomic offerings of the area. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the local culture and bring back souvenirs from your trip.
Later, you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, you will board the waiting bus, ensuring a safe and comfortable return to the city of Cusco. You will arrive in Cusco at approximately 11:00 PM, where our private transport will be waiting to take you to your respective hotel.
Large Groups
Joining a large group helps reduce costs without compromising the duration of the guided tour or the type of entry, which includes access to the Guardian's House for the classic photo.
Bus transport to the train station.
The buses transporting you from Cusco to the Ollantaytambo train station typically accommodate up to 30 passengers.
Our Budget-Friendly Tour to Machu Picchu takes you on a full-day journey to the magical sanctuary of Machu Picchu. What makes this tour more affordable is that it is conducted in a larger group. In contrast, the standard Machu Picchu tour accommodates a maximum of 8 people, resulting in a slightly higher price.
For the budget-friendly tour with larger groups, passenger pick-up from hotels in Cusco typically occurs earlier. This allows extra time to gather all group members. The return process may also take longer if some passengers are delayed. We strive to select the best train schedules for the budget-friendly tour in both scenarios. However, less popular train schedules are often selected to offer a lower price for this option.
