The Devil’s Balcony horseback ride begins at your hotel and continues to a ranch in the Sacsayhuaman area, where you meet the horse and muleteer who will accompany you.
Before the ride, your guide explains the itinerary and provides instructions for the route. You then begin the Balcon del Diablo tour on horseback. At the first stop, you have time to rest while the guide discusses Andean philosophy and worldview.

Day 1
Hotel pickup and pre-tour briefing
The tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. You may choose the 9:00 AM or 1:30 PM departure. Your assigned pickup time will be confirmed before the tour.
Before departure, the guide explains the itinerary and provides recommendations for the horseback ride. This gives you time to understand the order of the route and ask questions before meeting the horses.
Transfer to the ranch near Sacsayhuaman
We travel approximately 30 minutes from Cusco to the ranch in the Sacsayhuaman area. Upon arrival, you meet your assigned horse and the muleteer responsible for its care during the tour.
The service includes a saddle and safety helmet. Follow the guide’s and muleteer’s instructions before starting the ride.
Horseback ride to Devil’s Balcony
The first part of the ride leads to Devil’s Balcony. Upon arrival, we pause so you can rest after riding and observe the surroundings.
During the stop, the guide discusses aspects of Andean worldview and philosophy connected with the places on the route. We then mount the horses again and continue the tour.
Ride to Lanlacuyoc or Zone X
The route continues to Lanlacuyoc, also known as Zone X. Here you can observe natural caves. Some people believe that the caves may connect with different parts of Cusco, although this connection is not confirmed.
You can also observe Inca structures that are still used for offerings to Pachamama or Mother Earth. The guide and muleteer accompany the group throughout the visit.
Return to the ranch and hotel
After visiting Zone X, we ride back to the ranch. There, we say goodbye to the horses and the staff responsible for their care.
Finally, we board the vehicle for the return to your hotel in Cusco. The complete tour lasts approximately four hours, although timing may vary with the operation of the service.
