We will give you a warm welcome and pick you up at the Cusco airport to take you to your hotel. After lunch, we will pick you up from your hotel at around 1:00 p.m. and begin our city tour, starting at the Cusco Cathedral, one of the most important churches in Peru, made up of three buildings called the Basilica Cathedral, El Triunfo, and Sagrada Familia. Inside, you will find artistic works created by the Cusco School. Then, we will visit Qoricancha, a marvelous complex built by the Incas for the worship of the Sun, which was later modified by the Spanish for the evangelization of the Indigenous people during the Viceroyalty. Inside, you can still see walls built with great precision by the Incas, as well as Catholic religious artwork.
We will continue our guided visit exploring the archaeological sites near the city of Cusco. We will begin at Sacsayhuaman, whose name means “satisfied falcon.” This site was built with enormous stone blocks and, in Inca times, was known as the “house of the sun.” It was an important religious center in the local tradition. Then we will head to Qenqo, a Quechua word that means “labyrinth,” named for its underground galleries and small zigzagging channels carved into the rock. We will continue our tour visiting Puka–Pukara, also known as the Red Fortress, built with reddish-colored stones. Finally, we will arrive at Tambomachay, an Inca complex dedicated to water.
We end our tour at the beautiful Main Square (Plaza de Armas) of Cusco at approximately 6:00 p.m.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
After the tour, take a walk around the Plaza de Armas and its surroundings, where you can admire the work of Cusco’s artisans in the handicraft shops. You can also taste the famous Peruvian cuisine in the nearby restaurants, or simply relax on one of the benches in the Plaza de Armas and then take the classic souvenir photo in a warm atmosphere despite the chilly Cusco nights. And if you enjoy nightlife, around the square you will find many clubs and bars full of tourists and locals looking to have a good time.
We will start our day with breakfast at your hotel. At approximately 7:30 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel and begin by visiting the Archaeological Center of Pisac, located 45 minutes from Cusco. Pisac will give you a sense of the advanced level of architectural knowledge that the Incas achieved in their time.
Some studies suggest that it was not a fortress, but rather a type of “royal estate” during the rule of Inca Pachacutec, made up of agricultural terraces, domestic and ceremonial structures, and aqueducts that provided water for agricultural use. Another compelling reason to visit Pisac is its handicraft market, where you can find unique and authentic souvenirs.
At midday, we will head to the town of Urubamba to enjoy a buffet lunch, giving you the chance to taste delicious Peruvian cuisine. Urubamba was one of the main agricultural centers of the Inca Empire. Today, the best corn in the world is grown here, and during the rainy season, the valley is filled with native fruits such as peaches, capulí cherries, quince, and top-quality strawberries, among others.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, which was an agricultural, religious, and astronomical center. This is evident from the colcas, or storage buildings for agricultural products that used a wind-based ventilation system, and from the finely carved stone blocks strategically aligned toward the Sun God to manage and control the Sacred Valley. This archaeological site consists of a series of overlapping terraces, showcasing impressive, large stone blocks located on the upper terrace. It is in Ollantaytambo that we will board the train to Aguas Calientes so that the next morning we can visit Machu Picchu early.

Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, you will enjoy its magical energy, its mild climate, the fresh air, and the sense of peace you feel as soon as you enter, together with its natural beauty, artificial terraces, and incredible stone constructions seen in Inca buildings and ceremonial temples. The intensely green terraces and the imposing mountain range that surrounds the site form a stunning landscape that exceeds all expectations. You will be amazed by its enormous and impressive stone blocks joined together, making it unique as one of the most important religious, political, and cultural centers of the Inca Empire. The tour of Machu Picchu lasts approximately 2 hours, during which our guide will provide you with all the information and will be attentive to any questions you may have.
