The car journey takes approximately 1 hour, during which you will observe the mountainous landscape of the sacred valley crossed by the Vilcanota River. After lunch, we continue our tour to the town of Ollantaytambo, located 76 km from Cusco. The Ollantaytambo fortress is strategically located in the middle of three valleys that lead to the lower jungle of Cusco, controlling the entry and exit of travelers in the ancient Tahuantinsuyo. Its architecture consists of finely carved large stone pieces, used for astronomical observation in the Inca era. These colossal stones were transported by the Incas from one end to the other between two mountains and crossed the Vilcanota River, a feat that still amazes everyone who visits this site. Ollantaytambo is also considered a town that transcends time, as its houses and streets still preserve pre-Hispanic architecture while maintaining its natural landscape.
After our visit to Ollantaytambo, our transportation will take you to the train station, and you will continue your journey to the town of Aguas Calientes (approximate train travel time is 2 hours). A hotel representative will pick you up from the train station to take you to the hotel.
