For the past few years, entrance to Machu Picchu has been limited, and tickets often sell out quickly, leaving many travelers without the chance to visit this iconic site. We offer a last-minute option and will gladly guide you through the process.
The Ministry of Culture manages access to Machu Picchu and authorizes the in-person sale of about 1,000 entries in the town of Aguas Calientes, one day before the visit. This means you can purchase your entry in person with an official ID (passport or national ID). Please keep in mind the following conditions:
With the Machu Picchu 2-day tour, we will guide you through this in-person ticket-purchase process, in addition to handling your regular reservations. Below is the itinerary.
The tour begins with a transfer from your hotel in Cusco to the town of Ollantaytambo, where you will board the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, your guide will meet you and assist with the last-minute ticket-purchase process for Machu Picchu. Your guide will show you where to queue and support you as you secure your entry for the following day. Because the purchase must be made in person, you must bring your official ID.Once you have your ticket and time slot, you will coordinate the start time of the Machu Picchu tour for the next day with your guide.
You’ll have the afternoon free to enjoy the town or relax in the thermal baths that give Aguas Calientes its name.
Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
You will take a ~25-minute bus ride to the Machu Picchu citadel. Once inside, our guide will lead the tour and share detailed information about this Wonder of the World. You will see remarkable structures built with massive, precisely carved stones.
After the guided visit, you will return to Aguas Calientes, board the train to Ollantaytambo, and then take your transfer back to your hotel in Cusco

To begin our 2-day tour to Machu Picchu, we will pick you up early from your hotel in Cusco and transfer you to the train station in Ollantaytambo, offering personalized service throughout the journey. Once in Ollantaytambo, you will board the train that travels through the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Along the way, enjoy stunning Andean landscapes, the majestic Vilcanota River, and charming villages, as you transition from the highlands of Ollantaytambo to the cloud forest where Machu Picchu is nestled. It’s a scenic and enjoyable train journey until you arrive in the town of Aguas Calientes.
Upon arrival, our guide will be waiting to assist you with the ticket purchase process for Machu Picchu entry. This process is personal, so be sure to bring your identification documents to complete the registration and purchase. Our guide will support you every step of the way to ensure the process runs smoothly.
After securing your ticket and scheduled entry time, you will coordinate with the guide regarding the logistics for the Machu Picchu tour the next day.

After breakfast at your hotel, we will transfer you to the bus station, where you will board a bus to the Archaeological Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes.

Machu Picchu is a marvel of engineering, art, and architecture, perfectly integrated with its natural environment. The citadel consists of both agricultural and urban areas, including plazas, temples, pathways, staircases, terraces, and aqueducts. These features are held in place by stone retaining walls, with a hydraulic system made up of canals and aqueducts designed to transport water. Machu Picchu is widely regarded as a masterpiece of agricultural engineering. This Inca city forms part of a larger area known as the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, which spans over 35,000 hectares and attracts 1.5 million visitors annually. Its beauty and grandeur fill visitors with energy and awe.
Machu Picchu, recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, stands out for its exceptional feats in architecture and engineering. Among its many structures, you will find the Intihuatana—a solar clock used for ceremonial and astronomical purposes—along with several other religious and ritual sites.
After the tour, you will descend to Aguas Calientes, where you can relax before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you at the station and transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.
