DÍA 1: PUERTO MALDONADO - TAMBOPATA JOURNEY

Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be greeted and transferred to the WASAI Hotel, where you will receive a welcome drink or tropical juice and an explanation about the Amazon tour. Afterward, we will embark on a boat with an outboard motor and travel for approximately 3 and a half hours along the Tambopata River to the WASAI Tambopata Lodge & Research Center (Box lunch on board).

The Bahuaja-Sonene National Park is considered by National Geographic as one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world. During the journey, you will appreciate the beauty of the rainforest and observe the lush vegetation along the Tambopata River. It is also possible to spot various animal species along the way, such as birds, monkeys, or even caimans on the riverbanks. Upon arrival, we will have a reception and accommodation at the lodge. After a short rest, we will take our first visit to the surrounding forest or visit the Cascadas del Gato (Cat Waterfalls), where you can enjoy a bath in a natural "Jacuzzi." In the evening, we will take a nocturnal forest walk to observe and listen to colorful insects and frogs, and perhaps have occasional encounters with nocturnal mammals. The diverse sounds of the jungle will accompany us on our first night in the Amazon.

DÍA 2: GUACAMAYO COLPA

We will wake up early (4 a.m.) and have a light coffee or mate before embarking on a 40-minute journey upriver to the Guacamayo Colpa (Macaw Clay Lick) in El Chuncho, located in the Bahuaja-Sonene National Park. During this trip, you will have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful natural scenery and wildlife along the banks of the Tambopata River. Upon arrival, weather permitting, we will witness one of the most spectacular wildlife displays: hundreds of parrots and macaws of various species descending to feed on the clay of a cliff. It is an unforgettable experience. Afterward, we will explore the river beach in search of animal tracks while enjoying a snack. We will return to the lodge for a mid-morning breakfast.

After a short break, we will cross the river to visit a small tributary called Río Gato on the opposite shore, where there is a small waterfall suitable for swimming and refreshing dips. Upon returning to the lodge, we will have lunch and take a rest. This is an opportune moment to observe the abundance of birds flying around the lodge. In the late afternoon, we will embark on a guided walk through the nearby forests and observe the wildlife and flora of the region.

We will witness the sunset, and gradually, the sounds of diurnal birds and insects will give way to the sounds of the night. In the darkness, we will embark on a journey in search of caimans and other nocturnal species. After dinner, we can rest and enjoy our last night in the Amazon.

DAY 3: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT

After breakfast, we will transfer you by boat to Puerto Maldonado, providing new opportunities to observe the landscape, Amazonian flora and fauna, in Puerto Maldonado, a bus will take you to the airport, marking the end of the three-day tour.
