This mansion is renowned for its exquisite Renaissance architecture and impressive interior courtyard.
It was Don Manuel Santos de San Pedro who ordered and had his noble coat of arms engraved on its façade. Later the owners were Don Melchor Pacheco and his wife Mrs. Gertrudis Bustamante, the house remaining the property of their heirs until the first half of the 20th century. Part of the property was sold to the Firemen's Company in 1940, leaving the house with 1,560 square meters of land. In 1948, the Howell Williams husband and wife undertook a comprehensive restoration and reinforcement of the structures. The heirs of the family sold the house to the Banco Industrial del Peru and with the disappearance of the Banco Industrial the house remained closed for some years, until 1994 when it was acquired by the Banco del Sur del Peru in order to maintain its cultural and touristic purpose.
The current owner of the Casa del Moral is Banco Santander Central Hispano which, through a concessionaire, keeps it open to the public.
Located at 318 Moral Street, two blocks from the Santa Catalina Convent and one block from the Plaza de Armas.
It has furniture of the colonial and republican time. The cover in ashlar is a work of art in which carefully carved figures are appreciated, as a crown on a shield supported by two angels, in turn, the shield consists of a castle, a bird, a puma and two crossed keys. Also in its interior you can appreciate works of art, including those of the Cusquenian school.
