In times of early Colonial, Lima was the most important city on the continent so memorable housed palaces and mansions, built with the best materials of the time. Remarkable are the balconies outside wearing these constructions.
Government Palace

Goyeneche Mansion
These buildings offer an opportunity to appreciate changes during the 18Th century (from the beginning, baroque to the end, Rococo). Their carefully carved balconies, however, are an elegance model. As you can see in the shield that decorates the walls, the house was inaugurated in 1771 by its owners, Cavero and Vásquez de Acuña.
Torre Tagle Palace
It is one of the most outstanding colonial architecture samples that is located very close from the main square. It is the Torre Tagle palace which was fished building in 1735. This two story building is special due to its wooden carved balconies, its baroque oratory as its carefully stone carved front. It was constructed under the Torre Tagle
Osambela Mansion
One of the most recognized icons in downtown area of Lima is the balconies of the old Lima’s aristocrat houses (such as Osambela house). Navy Museum – House of Miguel Grau
The house where Admiral Miguel Grau was born opened its doors on July 27th in 1964 to become an amazing museum where life moments of the admiral and his ancestors can be seen.
