Administrative Division

The total area of Cusco has 71.891,97 sq Km and it is divided politically in 13 provinces (Acomayo, Anta, Calca, Canas, Canchis, Chumbivilcas, Cusco, Espinar, Paucartambo, La Convención, Paruro, Quispicanchi and Urubamba). The city has 8 distritcs (Ccorca, Cusco, Poroy, San Jerónimo, San Sebastián, Saylla, Wanchaq y Santiago).

 

Languagenia

The official languages in Peru are: Spanish and Quechua or Runasimi with a participation in the entire country of the 73% and 24% respectively. In the rural zones of Cusco, the Quechua is the predominant language. Part of the Cusco's population is bilingual and it has the Quechua as its mother dialect and the Spanish as learned. A small percentage of the population speaks Aymara and there are also other Amazonic languages (such as Machiguenga) talked in the jungle region of the department. (Low Urubamba).

Religion

In Peru, the 80% of the population is Christian, predominating the Roman Catholic Religion. Cusco is not the exception, the majority has the Catholicism as their religion, without leaving aside their traditional believes; generally, related to the earth or pachamama and the natural phenomenon.
