It was built in the second half of the eighteenth century in what was the old neighborhood Pachacamilla. Two gold fluted Tuscan columns supporting the Baroque façade. Inside, as an urn, lies an image of Jesus crucified, which was painted in oil on a rough wall of mud for Angolan black slave.

The Temple or Shrine of The Nazarene, on which altar is the sacred image of the Lord of Miracles, has its origins in this ancient depiction of Christ on the Cross, painted on a humble wall the seventeenth century.

Each year the Sanctuary receives innumerable devotees of Moreno Christ, who want to admire faith animated the original image that the slave painted over 359 years ago and remains intact to this day, as shown miraculous divine gift to the city of Lima .
