Since 1650 when, according to the believers, a statue of the “Cristo de la buena Suerte” stopped an earthquake that was shaking the city of Cusco, the locals now worship the statue of the “Taitacha Temblors”. This celebration has special interest because it shows the devotion of the catholic religion. The same cathedral in Cusco, in where the statue rest, is built right in top of an ancient temple dedicated to the God Apulla Tikse Wiracocha. The image of the Señor de temblores is taken in procession though the many different streets just like they did with the old mummies of the cheeps, priests and inka rulers.

Finally, the central element of the celebration is with the flower of ñucchu (salvia esplendes) this is used to give an offering to the Gos Kon and Wiracocha, now days the crone of the Señor de los Temblores is made out of this flower.

The actual image was donated by Carlos V and even the years have passed no other artist wants to retouch it. The time and the smoke of the candles have turned this saint into a strange and dark saint.
