Taquile is littered with Inca and pre-Inca stone ruins. Taquile has been inhabited for 10,000 years, and life remains starkly traditional Taquile natives. On these days there are still around 3,000 natives or so. The tourists are allowed to stay on private houses, being a unique experience. Their dresses are famous too: Taquile textiles are some of the finest in Peru. Return to Puno and transfer to the hotel.
