Just like in the past, is realized in the main square of Cusco, in which all the streets become the stands for the selling of the many different products they bring. Following the costume of the traditional Andean fairs.

The Santuranticuy is celebrated every year, on December 24th. 

Santuranticuy, that means “sale of saints” is a market where many artist come to sell their product, like many different statues to make the holidays more vibrant for Christmas, they sale the birth of Christ “nacimientos”.

This event is celebrated since the arrival of the Spainers to the city of Cusco, this is an occasion in which many people come from the mountains to sell their images of Jesus as a child, The Virgin Mary, Joseph and the three kings (all made by them), they also sell images of sheep, and many different animals. One of the reasons in getting all of these images is to decorate the birth of Christ or “naciemiento”. Actually it is one of the oldest and most popular celebration in Peru, it brings together many different artists whose specialties are: pottering, embroidering, carving, choreoplastic, toy shopping and others.

This traditional art fair brings together many artists especially from San Blas, as well as the artist from the south side of the country. Giving an enhancement to that fair of exposition of the famous “niño manuelito”, ceramic and “carves.

Christmas time brings the magic of that traditional fair in the Main Square. In the last years, the numbers of people that come to sell their products and the products have increased (clothing, pottering, and craftworks).
