It doesn’t depend of the destiny or genies, we have to take advantage of it, we have to arouse interest in every Cordova person, it is a magic work of collective construction. It is a wonderful enterprise of making a city taking the culture as a tool.

In this city, a hundred of cities are living, our historical university attracted for decades, brother of Brazil, of Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Haiti, Paraguay and Uruguay that chose its neighborhoods to stay for ever.

In Cordoba Spanish grew up, Italians, Arabians, Turks, Israelis; son of son of immigrants. Cordova has a hundred of cities and when we think about its diversity and tradition of so many colors we can’t mind another cultural politic than a polyphonic concert, attractive and beautiful, original but full of tolerance and with desires of include distinctions”.

Cordova’s mayor finally has declared that “we have done 2000 events in this year, 2006. Some great actions as February Carnivals or the festivity of Mercedes Sosa in March. As the extraordinary theatrical show of the Holly Week, or the celebrations of La Fundacion in July. But also, any of the neighborhoods of the city had no cultural celebration, all of them had it, its recitals, shows and concerts, open air movies. Each neighborhood with its own meaning lived a really great Capitalism. Three months are missing and we have a full cultural plan. We have to crown our title with a great popular celebration and a beautiful monument that in the moment, an special jury has been chosen for it. December will find us in celebrations and we will be grateful of all the tourist that will visit us. They will find us with another reason of proud and I am sure that the satisfaction of having deserved this huge prize”.

As far as, Santiago Baeza, Director of Culture of Guadalajara’s town hall that was the American Capital of Culture 2005, has declared that Cusco, millenary city that was founded by the Marcavalle Culture, many years ago of the conquest of the new world, nowadays represents an important mixed of races between the original cultures of America and the universal culture of the western.
