Paleontology in Cusco [English]

A scientific expedition discovered the intact remains of a Megatherium (giant sloth) of about 5 million years of Espinar province of Cusco,
“This fossil is particularly important as it is the most complete specimen discovered in the Americas, dating back 5 million years old,” he told AFP the scholar from the city of Cusco.

The fossil was discovered unexpectedly megatherium by employees while conducting excavations for the foundations of a house in the city of Yauri, Espinar province area extremely rich in fossils.

El puchero comida típica de carnaval [Español]

Cusco ofrece a sus turistas una variedad de suculentos platos como es el Timpu más conocido como puchero ,  que se prepara durante los carnavales, y que consiste en hervir un pecho de vaca, cabeza de cordero, tocino y patas, para añadir luego hojas enteras de col, papas, moraya, garbanzos y arroz. En una olla aparte se hierven camotes, duraznos, peras y yucas. Ambos alimentos se sirven en platos separados, de forma similar al “sancochado”, pero cubriendo con una hoja de col.

Peruvian Food in National Flights [english]

Peruvian Airlines announced that it will serve Peruvian food and desserts to passengers during its flights to Cusco, Arequipa, Iquitos and Tacna, reports Aeronoticias.

Passengers will be able to taste some of the best selections from Peruvian gastronomy, currently ranked as one of the best cuisines in the world.

The company also stressed that this is an effort aiming to improve service on board and in turn, contribute to the promotion of national cuisine.

Hairless dog, Peruvian pride. [English]
