Residents and tourists were captivated today with exposure of 126 photographs of the city of Cusco in the decades 20 and 40, organized by the National Institute of Culture (INC) near the plaza “Rococijo”, as part of the activities for International Day of World Heritage Cities Solidarity.
The records of the prestigious anthropologist and historian Luis E. Valcárcel of the Plaza de Armas, the churchs: “Compañia de Jesús” , “Santo Domingo” and “La Merced”, the procession of the”Señor de los Temblores” ( Lord of the Earthquakes) and aerial views of the city were included in the sample.
Images of the streets and houses of San Pedro neighborhoods, San Cristobal, San Blas and Carmenca, before the earthquake of 50 were also shown.
The regional director of the INC, Juan Julio Garcia, recalled that with Cusco Arequipa and Lima on the list of cities declared as Cultural Heritage Site by Unesco, and to celebrate the authorization was sought from the display of the images to the Photo Gallery INC Lima.

Pobladores y turistas quedaron cautivados hoy con la exposición de 126 fotografías de la ciudad de Cusco de las décadas 20 y 40, organizada por el Instituto Nacional de Cultura (INC) cerca de la plaza Regocijo, como parte de las actividades por Día Internacional de la Solidaridad de Ciudades Patrimonio Mundial.
Los registros del prestigioso antropólogo e historiador Luis E. Valcárcel sobre la plaza de Armas, las iglesias Compañía de Jesús, Santo Domingo y La Merced, la procesión del Señor de los Temblores y vistas aéreas de la ciudad integran la muestra.
También se observan las calles y casonas de los barrios San Pedro, San Cristóbal, San Blas y Carmenca, antes del terremoto del 50.
El director regional del INC, Juan Julio García, recordó que Cusco junto con Arequipa y Lima integran la lista de ciudades declaradas como Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la Unesco, y para celebrar se solicitó la autorización de la exhibición de las imágenes a la Fototeca del INC de Lima.

The director of the INC Cusco, Juan Julio Garcia Rivas, reported that it has arranged to regulate the entry of domestic and foreign visitors to the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu and Waynapicchu area in order to safeguard the archaeological and the firm commitment to order the entry of visitors, as in other places declared in the title of the wonder of the world.

El director del Instituto Nacional de Cultura del Cusco, Juan Julio García Rivas, informó que se ha dispuesto reglamentar el ingreso de los visitantes nacionales y extranjeros al santuario histórico de Machupicchu y la zona de Waynapicchu con la finalidad de salvaguardar el complejo arqueológico y con el firme compromiso de ordenar el ingreso de los visitantes, como ocurre en otros centros declarados con el título de la maravilla del mundo.
