La declaratoria de emergencia por el colapso de la vía férrea originó que los comercios cierren en Machu Picchu Pueblo, los perjudicados son los pobladores de esa zona que están evacuando del lugar, el presidente de la Asociación de Agencias de Turismo del Cusco, informo que estos impases generarán una pérdida de 750 mil a un millón de dólares aproximadamente.
Se pusieron 3 helicopteros mas para evacuar a toda la gente de Machu Picchu, este esfuerzo hara mas corto el tiempo de espera.

Reinstatement transit railway

Se restablece tránsito en vía férrea

Según los últimos reportes el Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones apoyan conjuntamente a la empresa Peru Rail trabajando en la rehabilitación de la vía ferroviaria.
La empresa PeruRail, que cubre la ruta ferroviaria Cusco –Machu Pichu se encuentra bloqueada en varios puntos por deslizamientos ocasionados por las lluvias, informando que este martes podría restablecerse el tránsito en una parte de este tramo.
Actualmente se implementó el puente aéreo alrededor de las 15:30 horas con la llegada del primer helicóptero de la Policía Nacional evacuando a los turistas y pobladores varados en Machu Picchu Pueblo. Dicho vuelo llegó con agua, frazadas y algunos víveres.
Por otro lado, El Ejército ha dispuesto el traslado de otros tres helicópteros a Cusco para apoyar con las labores de evacuación, y realizar las labores de rescate.

Según los últimos informes obtenidos, El jefe del parque arqueológico de Machu Picchu, Fernando Astete, descartó que se hayan registrado daños en la ciudadela del mismo nombre a consecuencia de las fuertes lluvias sobre Cusco en los últimos días.
No se reportaron emergencias en el interior de este legado incaico y lo único observado hasta el momento es el incremento del nivel del río Vilcanota. También ,aun no se ha discutido todavía la posibilidad de suspender el ingreso a la ciudadela incaica por el mal tiempo.
Actualmente en Machu Picchu hay un monitoreo permanente frente a las intensas lluvias, con personal que se mantiene atento a cualquier eventualidad.
En la ciudadela incaica se han llevado a cabo trabajos de prevención como el tratamiento de pisos, a fin de que el agua de las precipitaciones no se acumulen.

Le informamos que si quiere viajar a Machu Picchu, no podrá hacerlo, ya que uno de los principales caminos a Machu Picchu como es la vía férrea, fue interrumpido por el desprendimiento de lodo y piedras a causa de las lluvias. Actualmente las rutas a Machu Picchu están bloqueadas por los deslizamientos y, según cifras dadas por el ministro de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, Martín Pérez, hay 1,954 turistas varados en Aguas Calientes esperando viajar a la ciudad del Cusco. Se trasladara a los turistas varados en Machu Picchu mediante un puente aéreo por helicópteros desde el estadio de Machu Picchu a Ollantaytambo, lugar de donde podrán tomar buses para llegar por carretera a la Ciudad del Cusco.
