A scientific expedition discovered the intact remains of a Megatherium (giant sloth) of about 5 million years of Espinar province of Cusco,
“This fossil is particularly important as it is the most complete specimen discovered in the Americas, dating back 5 million years old,” he told AFP the scholar from the city of Cusco.

The fossil was discovered unexpectedly megatherium by employees while conducting excavations for the foundations of a house in the city of Yauri, Espinar province area extremely rich in fossils.

As part of a pilot project that has international support, the Regional office of Culture of Cusco working on the rehabilitation of four colonial large houses of the Historical Center in the city of the Cusco.

Juan Julio Rivas, director of the institution, explained that the homes are in streets like Procuradores, Alca, Tullumayo and Santiago.

The Commission for the Promotion of Peru Export and Tourism (PromPeru) will participate in the International Tourism Fair “Adventure Sport Fair, to be held from 23 to 26 September in the city of Sao Paulo (Brazil).The aim is to promote destinations in the segments of adventure, nature and culture of Peru, said the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) in the Presidential Decree issued today authorizing participation Promperú.The Promperú officer to assist the fair will develop different activities related to promoting tourism in Peru, he said.

La Comisión de Promoción del Perú para la Exportación y el Turismo (Promperú) participará en la Feria Internacional de Turismo “Adventure Sport Fair”, a realizarse del 23 al 26 de setiembre en la ciudad de Sao Paulo (Brasil).El objetivo es promover los destinos en los segmentos de aventura, naturaleza y cultura de Perú, señala el Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo (Mincetur) en el decreto supremo publicado hoy que autoriza la participación de Promperú.
La funcionaria de Promperú que asistirá a la feria desarrollará diversas actividades vinculadas a la promoción turística de Perú, precisó.
